About Jump Roping?
Warm up and do a few stretches before any long sessions on the rope. Do two mins on the rope then do circles with your ankles.

Also, you should have trainers with good support and cushioning for jump roping, like jogging it%26#039;s an impact sport. It could be the constant strain from landing on the ground that%26#039;s causing pain in your feet. I know it would cause pain in my knee.
Reply:I%26#039;d suggest doing 50 jump ropes, then 50 jumping jacks, then doing another 50 jump ropes, and building up from there. The problem is the amount of stress you are putting on specific parts of your foot, by doing jumping jacks inbetween you spread the stress out to the other areas of your foot, allowing you to build up and do more at once.
Reply:There could be a problem with your feet. It happens to me when I am running. I finally found the shoes that fit well enough (wide shoes) so that my feet don%26#039;t hurt. Go to a specialist!! I did!!
Reply:your body is adjusting and no offense but when your heavier when you jump up more weight comes down. do it gradually and then you%26#039;ll be able to jump longer and where comfortable light shoes or heres and idea don%26#039;t where shoes at all. jump on a soft part of the floor with socks on, that might help.
Reply:Going barefoot as much as possible will actually help. Your body has adapted to shoes, which is why your feet hurt so much. Once your bare feet get used to supporting your body weight, you won%26#039;t have any more problems. The arches in tennis shoes and workout shoes actually WEAKEN your arches by not making your foot muscles work. It would be like always propping your head on your hand. Eventually your neck muscles will weaken from not having to support your head.

Definitely jump barefoot as well. Once your foot muscles get toned, you%26#039;ll find you can jump longer.

An exercise you can do to soothe your feet: get a tennis ball and place it on the floor. Roll the ball with your foot, get to every place on the sole of your foot that you can. Just roll it back and forth from heel to toe. Roll it from side to side (one side of your toes to the other). Massage your feet. The tense muscles aren%26#039;t letting your foot relax into its natural shape. For me, squeezing my heel, and then moving my hand upward, squeezing along the way until I reach my toes helps. Then I go back down to the heel. You can also flex your feet and then curl them to help loosen up the tense muscles. Once your feet get stronger, you can do toning exercises to strengthen your lower leg muscles. Place your toes on the end of a stair so that the tips of your feet are supporting your weight. Then lower your heels while supporting your weight with only the tips of your feet. Next, use your foot muscles and calf muscles to lift your body up, higher than the stair, as high as you can go. Then let yourself slowly down again. It may take a while for you to get to this point. But don%26#039;t give up. Slow and steady wins the race.

Just give your feet a chance to do their job. You%26#039;ll be fine once they get used to actually %26quot;working%26quot; again.
Reply:Stop jumping when you first feel the pain. Don%26#039;t believe that line of Jane Fonda%26#039;s %26quot;No pain, no gain%26quot;. It%26#039;s crap! I am 60 years old, have a bad back, am 30 pounds overweight, my knees hurt and I have carpal tunnel. You are doing better than me just by actually getting out the rope and trying! I used to love to jump rope, but my body is not in shape for it anymore. Good luck... Oh, buy some really expensive tennis shoes that give good cushioning and support.
Reply:Maybe you have the cheapest tennis shoes you could afford. Make sure that they are high quality and don%26#039;t bend easily.
Reply:Try jump roping on a trampoline or some rubber flooring.
Reply:Try going to doctor and asking him. Or if you are jumping fast try jumping slow.
